WorkXO's founders, leaders, team, and advisors bring a gazillion years of organizational experience to WorkXO, but the journeys that brought them here is anything but typical. Their backgrounds include studying modern art, working in areas of ethnic conflict, leading Human Resources functions for large multi-national organizations, and changing organizational cultures. They’ve been CEOs, consulted to CEOs, and, when necessary, circumvented CEOs. Corporate, nonprofit, government, big, small, local, global—they’ve seen it all.

And they are, above all, committed to re-humanizing the workplace through technology.

Charlie Judy forged a successful career over two-decades as an HR Executive with some of the world’s most prominent professional services organizations; he has traversed the global economy while living and working in Chicago, New Orleans, New York, St. Louis, Brussels, Belgium, and Hyderabad, India. He's a renowned blogger with a penchant for disrupting the management norms to which we’ve fallen prey, and he’s a sought-after expert on simplifying Human Resources.

Charlie believes the future of work is not about better HR systems, technologies, or the next shiny object; it's not about any one best practice, secret recipe, or magic formula. He founded WorkXO to help the world-of-work stop over-engineering our Human Resources and start re-humanizing them. He is a graduate of Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business and is a CPA, SPHR, and SHRM-SCP.

Maddie Grant

Maddie Grant

Maddie Grant is an expert digital strategist and thought leader who has helped hundreds of organizations engage with their customer base and build capacity for using social media and online communities to achieve business results. Her recent consulting work focuses on digital transformation and internal and external engagement. In addition to her culture work through WorkXO, Maddie is Editor of SocialFish, one of the most visited and respected blogs written for nonprofit and association executives. She is ALWAYS working on her next book, and the two she wrote with Jamie (Humanize in 2011 and When Millennials Take Over in 2015) are clearly just the beginning. Jamie Notter

Jamie Notter

Jamie Notter began his career in the international conflict resolution field, designing and delivering conflict resolution training programs in areas of ethnic conflict in the 1990s. He transitioned into organizational work, initially as a diversity trainer and consultant, and later leading his own management consulting practice where he specialized in helping systems work through the most difficult conversations. In the end, he realized that no matter what kind of work he was doing inside organizations, it all came back to culture, so that is his focus. Jammie runs the Culture Consulting arm of our business. Before founding WorkXO with Charlie, Jamie and Maddie worked together at Culture That Works LLC. An avid writer, he’s been blogging successfully since 2005 and has written e-books on Generational Diversity and Culture That Works, in addition to the two hardcovers he co-authored with Maddie Grant. An accomplished and sought-after keynote speaker, Jamie carries a master’s degree in conflict resolution from George Mason University, and a Certificate in Organization Development from Georgetown, where he serves as adjunct faculty.

Joseph Knecht Chief Technology Officer

Joey Knecht leads the technical innovation and product delivery at WorkXO.  He has been involved with over 50+ high growth SaaS based ventures at his company Proteus and has successfully co-founded two technology firms. He is active in the national startup ecosystem, frequent speaker, and adviser to many startup and high growth ventures. Joey is a graduate of West Virginia University and received his Master’s in Business from the University of Nebraska — Lincoln. Outside the office he spends time with his wife Jennifer anywhere there is water.

Kyle Fitzsimmons <span>Marketing Manager</span>

Kyle Fitzsimmons Marketing Manager

Kyle Fitzsimmons is a B2B marketing manager and copywriter with experience in helping businesses - across numerous industries - find their voice and reach their intended audience. He's worked with bankruptcy lawyers, real estate technology gurus, procurement and supply chain consultants and now WorkXO to deliver targeted messaging to the kinds of organizations and people we are thrilled to work with. Kyle has a degree in journalism and English from Central Michigan University where he learned very quickly his dreams of becoming a newspaper reporter were anachronistic. In his free time, Kyle enjoys exploring the city of Chicago on bicycle (weather permitting) and putting miles on his library card.

Brittany Svoboda Digital Marketing Intern

Brittany Svoboda is a Digital Media expert who began her career as our Digital Marketing Intern here at WorkXO. She is currently a senior at Loyola University Chicago, pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and International Business. To Brittany, marketing is the creative lifeblood to enterprise, brand prominence, and product success. She loves expressing her original ideas in ways that keep the audience on their toes. Connecting with prospective clients and responding to their pain points is what keeps her on hers. When not in the classroom or the boardroom, Brittany has a passion for traveling, exploring Chicago and trying new restaurants.

Marlena Gondek is an important part of our Digital Marketing Team with a strong focus on (and passion for) social media outreach, content distribution, audience segmentation, and WorkXO community communications. As a senior at Loyola University Chicago, her major in Psychology and minor in Marketing puts her in the perfect place to help us assess, understand, and respond to our market's unique needs, challenges, and aspirations. In her spare time - which she has very little of now that she's interning with us - Marlena loves spending time with her family and friends in the vast city of Chicago.

Kris Dunn is a Partner and CHRO at Kinetix, a national RPO firm for growth companies headquartered in Atlanta. He's also the founder of two industry-leading blogs – Fistful of Talent and The HR Capitalist – and has written over 70 feature columns at Workforce Management magazine. He is clearly viewed as a top-influencer in the Human Capital and Talent Management realm. Prior to his investment at Kinetix, Kris served in HR leadership roles with several Fortune 500 Companies. He brings a juicy mix of experience in entrepreneurship, growth-stage-startups, workplace culture thought-leadership, and digital marketing to the team. And he has an entourage.

Margaret Francis' creative prowess has taken her from her studies in Art and Photography at Yale and The San Francisco Art Institute to a prosperous career as a technology strategist and product leader with prominent organizations like Razorfish and Lithium. She’s currently the VP of Product Management with Heroku, a cloud application platform and Salesforce company. We call Margaret our Silicon Valley Insider - a moniker duly earned through her extensive experience as a product innovator with venture-funded-organizations and technology start-ups. And her right-brained influence is simply a big breath of fresh air.

Kevin’s experience as a technologist, his client-service focus, and his deep relationships in the Association vertical bring a specialized point-of-view to the team.
